NLIU Alumni Body as a family

I've perused the draft and I am happy to see the Macaulays being produced from my alma mater. Well, do you need any more comments on the draft.

Secondly or perhaps the most important pillar of any successful Alumni Body is... interaction and bonhomie amongst alumni, which a draft statute may (or may not) generate. Even as the draft is fine, we need to work on its preamble, purpose and objectives. I was blessed to have studied at a great school with a great alumni body and hence I would be very happy to share my experience from there so that the Law School where I was fortunate to be in the first batch and where I could see the University growing from almost a scratch (I remember even the roads in that Agricultural Deptt. Building were being made and there were bulldozers, road rollers and water tankers when I had stepped in the then Campus!!!)

Having said that, as a first step, I would suggest that we work on "developing" chapters as has been suggested in the draft as well. Secondly, members in these chapters should organize meetups. We may not like lectures, debates etc. in such meetups for all the time that's what we do. Lets just meet, mingle, share our happiness (and problems too!!!). Lets try converting this Alumni Association into a family...

God speed!!!

Appeal to NLIU Alumni

Dear Friends,
In my professional journey, I have been meeting several people with various educational backgrounds including lawyers who are pass outs of National Law School system. I observed that many of them who are doing well in their career and lives owe their suceess to their alma mater and are thus very well networked. To quote ...an example: the ex-student body of my school is so very well networked that we feel like being a part of the extended family where we help each other not only in the career but even during any kind of distress--medical exigencies or financial distress etc... I was surprised to see that IIM A even had a matrimony site where they would seek the matrimonial alliance within the IIMs only, for all the others are considered as someone with lesser intelligence and not a suitable alliance. Well, though bachelor but that is not my intent behind writing this messsage to you!!!
I am in touch with many ex-students of our Law School. Some of them have at times discussed with me about some placements opportunity or for change or for some referrals etc. I remember Ms. Jayne Kuriakose of 2nd batch had started an egroup in yahoo, but I don’t see any activity on the egroup. I would strongly suggest that we should be connected on some egroup or may be we could revive the activities in that egroup where we could help each other in their quest for a good career or any other kind of help which one could do. Popular platforms like FB could also be used for this purpose. Even NLS Bangalore has a very nicely networked ex-students body, I think this is the time where those who are nicely placed and doing good or whosoever is capable of helping others should come forward and help others. Or lets stay connected just like that and enjoy golf, get together and party after working hard…!!!
